AMRC Peer Review Approved

The NIAA is pleased to announce that following a rigorous assessment process, the Royal College of Anaesthetists has passed the AMRC's Peer Review Audit 2020 which demonstrates the NIAA's achievement of best practice in peer review.

The RCoA manages its grant-making mechanism through the NIAA and has held membership of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) since 2016. The Peer Review Audit is a requirement of all AMRC members every five years.

Members must demonstrate a rigorous peer review process - abiding by the five principles of peer review - to decide which research they will fund, and the audit collects information about peer review processes to ensure that high standards are adhered to across the membership. The audit is conducted by a panel of representatives from AMRC member charities alongside the Medical Research Council and NIHR.

We are delighted that the NIAA's research funding practices have been awarded this stamp of approval by the AMRC which we trust helps demonstrate a reassuring level of due diligence to all applicants.
