Opportunities in Genomic Medicine for NHS employees

Genomic technologies and information will transform medical practice across the clinical professions over the next decade.

Health Education England (HEE) are keen to educate medical and science professionals, in particular NHS healthcare professionals from across the multi-professional team, to prepare for the future adoption of genomic technologies and the increasing use of genomic information as part of the diagnostic and treatment pathway.

The University of Cambridge have developed a multi-disciplinary course in genomics that can be applied to clinical practice and medical research leading to a Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Master's Degree in Genomic Medicine.

HEE have announced that they will provide funding for NHS employees who make a successful application to the course.

Applications close on 30th June 2015, with the first students starting in October of this year. Individual modules of the course will be available to NHS employees wanting to undertake CPD in due course.
