NIAA Grants 2021 Round 1 suspended

Given the ongoing and worsening national situation with COVID-19, the NIAA has made the decision to suspend all grants activity relating to 2021 Round 1, which will not open for applications.

As we are all aware, England was placed into a third national lockdown on 6th January 2021 and our NHS services, especially ICUs, continue to be stretched to beyond their capacity. Due to this and the effect this is likely to have on research projects and our clinicians' availability that is necessary to conduct a robust grant awarding system, the NIAA founding partners have made the decision to suspend the 1st grant round of 2021 similar to the decision taken in 2020.

Once again this year we will monitor the situation and revisit this decision over the coming months, and announcements will be made as and when further decisions are taken.
